Dialogue
HiC Dialogue is not about who is right, but rather what is right for each individual. It is rare to have the opportunity to talk honestly in a safe space. Hope in the Cities enables honest conversation through facilitated dialogues to take place. HiC Dialogues have taken place in many of the major cities in this country between various groups of people who do not normally talk at this level. Examples of dialogues held include those between the business sector and local communities, between the police and minority groups, between students and local residents and between different communities who are struggling with the issues of gun crime and lack of opportunity for young people. If you have ideas where dialogues could be helpful, please contact HiC.
Training
A vital part of Hope in the Cities’ work is the training of facilitators to support the work of honest conversation dialogue. Sensitive facilitators who do not have the answers but skilfully allow the group to find its own solutions can be trained in a number of different ways. Courses are run all over the country, in the last year these have taken place in many places including Liverpool, Huddersfield and London. Please contact HiC to find out dates and availability.
Conferences
HiC arranges conferences and seminars to explore the underlying issues that affect communities, finding common strands and links across regional, national and international communities. HiC has hosted and collaborated in conferences at the Initiatives of Change international conference centre in Caux Switzerland.
