DIALOGUE FACILITATOR INTERN OPPORTUNITY
Hope in the Cities (UK) is an international network of experienced professionals specialising in facilitating “honest conversation” dialogues, delivering training and creating event opportunities in order to seek common ground, build trust and sustainable community development. Its goal and mission is to create just and inclusive communities through enabling groups/individuals to talk at a level of seeking solution and leaving blame behind, which leads to personal and institutional transformation. It is administered as a part of Initiatives of Change, a faith-based charity.

Key Accountabilities
We are seeking highly motivated and hard working person interested in entering the field of Dialogue Facilitation to strengthen our team during a fixed-term internship. Working directly with the programme Director, you will need to be a strong team player.
Key Responsibilities
The role is relational and interactive. You will be given responsibility for a variety of tasks, which will include – but not be limited to – the following:

Assisting with sustainable community education, public presentations, and outreach programmes
-
Interacting with clients and creating opportunities for dialogue
-
Supporting the facilitation of “honest conversation” dialogues among individuals of opposing viewpoints
-
Assisting in the day-to-day activities and special projects of the organisation
The function is performed in different communities throughout the United Kingdom. Frequent business trips are to be expected by the intern between London and Liverpool.
The Individual
The person selected will be able to demonstrate the following:

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain neutral in tense situations

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
-
Excellent listening skills
-
Strong project management and problem solving skills
-
Sound judgment and discretion
-
Degree in Conflict Resolution or related field or equivalent experience/passion for it

Proven ability to interact with diverse groups

Understanding of- and full sympathy with Hope in the Cities’ ethos and aims

Commitment to work within the mission and policies of Initiatives of Change

INTERN OPPORTUNITY FOR MARKETING GRADUATES

Key Accountabilities
We are seeking a self-driven, results-oriented marketing graduate with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and inspired organisational development. Working directly with the programme director and her wider group of professionals, you will need to be an incisive analyst and a strong persuader with a heart for changing society believing that our own personal change of attitude can create similar change in the world.
Key Responsibilities
The role is relational and promotional. You will be given responsibility for a variety of tasks, which will include –but not limited to– the following:

Planning and carrying out activities to promote and market the use of dialogue as a tool for different sectors of society

Interacting with decision makers and understanding their aspirations and needs in order to promote dialogue as a tool for transformation

Design and create new marketing materials for HiC.

Assisting in the day-to-day activities and special projects of the organisation

The Individual

POLICY RESEARCH AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERN OPPORTUNITY
Initiatives of Change (IofC) in the UK is committed to bridge-building within our own communities, and in our relations with the world. Based in London, the charity is part of the worldwide network of IofC and shares its ideas, aims and programmes.
Key Accountabilities
We are seeking individuals to undertake a 3-month intern opportunity working with our Communications Director and Press Officer. You will be involved in a range of research, stakeholder, media and events projects, whilst participating in the wider life of the charity.
Key Responsibilities
The role is both research and administrative based. You will take part in a range of stakeholder mapping, media and events projects which will include – but not limited to – the following:
Policy Research

Researching social and spiritual trends in the UK

Researching policy and political developments in the field of trust-building and community relations

Supporting stakeholder mapping exercises

Tracking market trends within the charity, not-for-profit and faith-based sectors
Communications

Helping with evening speaker events and day conferences
