Programme
Each day will commence with a full gathering of course members, which will be addressed by one or more individuals who have a powerful story to tell of how they have been able to effect real change. Stories will be drawn from the worlds of business, politics or political action, environmental issues, community action and education and will offer ideas on how to discover one’s own identity and ‘calling’ in the world. Such sessions will be inspirational, motivating participants and assuring them of the possibilities for real change in themselves and beyond..
Throughout the course, participants will be able to join community groups of around 7 other conference members. Within communities, participants will be able to reflect on their progress to date and future aspirations. The support of the community group will be vital to the spirit of transformation that underpins the School for Changemakers.
In the afternoons, participants will also be able to choose one among five ‘learning tracks’ which will reflect the themes of the morning. In the learning tracks, participants will acquire the skills and knowledge to help them translate the dreams inspired in morning plenaries into effective change initiatives within given spheres.
Evening sessions will be artistic in nature, and focus on activities such as music, dance, film and story telling, and will enhance the interaction of course members and their individual development.
